Data Stored Locally on Your Device

Nutri AI Coach stores all your personal data locally on your device using secure local storage. This includes:

  • User Profile Information: Your age, gender, height, weight, health goals, dietary preferences, allergens, and food dislikes
  • Meal Data: Photos of your meals, food names, nutrition information (calories, protein, carbs, fat), meal timestamps, serving sizes, and symptom ratings
  • Usage Data: Meal history, daily totals, streak counts, badges earned, and app preferences

All this data remains on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.

Data Sent to Third-Party Services

To provide core functionality, Nutri AI Coach sends limited data to the following third-party services:

OpenAI API (Food Photo Analysis)

  • What we send: Compressed images of your meals (resized to max 1024px width, compressed to reduce file size)
  • Purpose: To analyze your food photos and provide nutrition information, ingredient lists, and personalized coaching feedback
  • Data retention: OpenAI's standard data retention policies apply. We do not store your photos on our servers.

Open Food Facts API (Barcode Scanning)

  • What we send: Product barcode numbers
  • Purpose: To retrieve nutrition information for packaged foods
  • Data retention: Open Food Facts is a public database. Barcode lookups are standard and do not identify you personally.

How We Use Your Information

  • To provide nutrition analysis and personalized coaching
  • To track your meals and calculate daily nutrition totals
  • To generate weekly summaries and progress insights
  • To improve the accuracy of our AI analysis

Data Security

  • All personal data is stored locally on your device using industry-standard encryption
  • We do not have access to your personal data stored on your device
  • Photos sent to OpenAI are compressed and sent securely via HTTPS
  • We do not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information to our servers

Your Rights

Since all your data is stored locally on your device:

  • Access: You can view all your data within the app
  • Delete: You can delete individual meals or clear all app data by uninstalling the app
  • Export: Your data remains on your device and can be accessed through the app

Children's Privacy

Nutri AI Coach is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
