- Recaldent, rennet casein — occasional entries in dental products and some cheeses.
Two more that get argued about: ghee is milk fat with most of the water and milk solids removed, and lactose-free milk is still dairy — the lactose has been broken down, but the proteins remain.
In many markets, allergen labelling rules require milk to be emphasised in the ingredient list, often in bold or capitals. Where that applies, scanning for the emphasised words is faster than reading the whole list.
