NutriAI, for writers and editors

Everything you need to write about the app accurately: the boilerplate, the facts, the assets, and an unusually specific list of things we will not claim. Use any of it without asking. If something you need is missing, email support@trynutriai.com.

Boilerplate

One line

NutriAI is a mobile app that turns a photo of a meal into an editable nutrition estimate and connects those meals to how the person felt afterwards.

Short paragraph

NutriAI is a meal-scanning and symptom-journalling app for iPhone and Android, built by Quantivo AI, LLC. A photo or a barcode produces an editable estimate of what is on the plate — calories, macros, and an inflammation-aware A+ to F grade — with a visible confidence tier on every result. A short check-in after meals lets the app surface possible connections between what someone ate and how they felt, always presented as an observation rather than a diagnosis. It is a general wellness product, not a medical device.

We do not publish install counts, subscriber counts, or revenue figures, so this table has none. If you need a number for a story, ask and we will tell you whether we can share it on the record rather than round something up.

The problem it addresses

People who suspect that food is connected to how they feel — digestion, joint pain, energy, brain fog — are usually told to keep a food diary. Almost nobody sustains one. Manual logging asks for a weight, a portion, and a database search at exactly the moment someone wants to eat, and the habit collapses within a fortnight.

NutriAI's bet is that if logging costs one photo, the record survives long enough to be worth reading. Once there is a record, the app can put meals and check-ins side by side and point at something worth watching — the thing a diary was supposed to produce and rarely does.

The second problem is trust. AI estimates of food are imprecise by nature, and an app that presents a confident number for a plate it half-recognised teaches people to stop believing it. NutriAI shows a confidence tier on every result and makes every value editable, which is a deliberate trade of apparent precision for something a reader can actually rely on.

Positioning, stated honestly

What it does

  • Estimates the contents of a meal from a photo or a barcode, and labels the estimate as one.
  • Shows a High, Medium, or Low confidence tier on every scan result.
  • Lets the user correct any item before the meal is saved.
  • Grades meals A+ to F against a published anti-inflammatory framework, with the method and its limits written out on the site.
  • Surfaces possible food-and-symptom patterns from the user's own journal, with the confidence and the alternative explanations shown alongside.
  • Runs in 22 languages, including right-to-left layouts.

What it does not do

  • It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition, and it is not a medical device.
  • It does not tell anyone to change or stop a medication, and it does not replace a clinician.
  • It does not claim a measurement accuracy figure. Photo-based estimation is approximate and the app says so.
  • It does not present a correlation as a cause. A pattern is labelled an observation, with sleep, stress, and portion size named as alternatives.
  • It does not sell personal data or use it for advertising.

If a draft attributes a health outcome to the app, that is our mistake to correct rather than yours — send it over and we will tell you what we can actually support. The scoring method is at How the Score Works, the data handling at How We Use Your Data, and our writing standards at Editorial Policy.
